This course was created to help the real estate professional understand the capabilities of drones and how they can be used in real estate, and to examine the legal issues related to drone operations. This includes FAA requirements for drone pilots and operational limitations. We will also discuss operations and consider the decision to outsource services or use in-house.

Stan Jessen

Stan Jessen graduated from California Polytechnic State University (Cal Poly) in San Luis Obispo with degrees in Aeronautical Engineering and Mathematics.  After graduation he worked at Boeing, Seattle, for two years as a flight test operations engineer on the 737 and 747 flight test programs.  He left Boeing to join the US Navy where he spent 9 years as a Naval Aviator, flying T34, T2, TA4 and A7 aircraft.  While in the Navy, he taught instruments and tactics (bombing, low level flying, dog fighting and carrier landings). 

He deployed aboard the USS Kitty Hawk as an A7 attack pilot where he was qualified for all missions including nuclear delivery.   He is an instruments rated commercial pilot.   After leaving the Navy, Stan moved to Atlanta were he worked in the computer technology industry for pass 30+ years in various roles (programmer, development manager, product managers, marketing manager, project manager, sale engineer).

In April 2015 Stan formed North Georgia Drones, LLC.  He is licensed by the FAA to conduct commercial drone operations and has logged 135+ hours of UAV flight time, flying both manual and autonomous grid missions.  He is a member of AUVSI (Association for Unmanned Vehicle Systems International), the AUVSI UAV Working Group, EAA (Experimental Aircraft Association) and AMA (Academy of Model Aeronautics)

He currently lives in Cumming, GA with his wife Linda and has two grown children.
